The Cragganmore 12 year old is a Scottish single malt whisky. This means that it is distilled exclusively from malted barley in copper pot stills. The barley used for Cragganmore whiskies has a very low peat content. This whisky is thought to have matured for at least 12 years exclusively in ex-bourbon casks. Its taste is therefore pleasantly fresh, fruity and slightly floral, but without being overpowering. With a light malt and vanilla flavor, the whisky is rounded off with a smoky note and provides a sweet finish. There are no overpowering, strong aromas. Rather, this malt shines with an elegant balance that is rarely so well achieved.
